The second version of the demo is now up!
This adds in a research system, requiring you to hire interns to research various upgrades. These include better buying and selling prices, fewer materials needed to manufacture bullets, making research more effective, and some quality of life features.
I've also rebalanced some things and tweaked the overall progression.
I'm very interested in any feedback, but specifically 3 questions:
- Is it fun? Do you want to play more?
- Is it intuitive? Was anything confusing?
- How was the pacing? Were any parts too slow or too fast?
There are 2 main things I would like to add in next, they will probably both be their own updates, but I'm not sure which order I'll do them in yet. The first is adding in more products, specifically grenades and guns. These will require new materials, researching each new product, having unique starting ways of making them, and multiple upgrades for each. The second thing to add in is a visual element to the production and research screens. Those will go in the big empty gray boxes at the top. I have some ideas for what I'd like to put there, but I need to play around with what is feasible and what looks the best.
